How can I compete?

  1. Read the competition instructions here. [link]
  2. Create an account.
  3. Take the quizzes, submit the case solution and personal motivation.
  4. Complete the challenge no later than November 2, 2014.

Am I eligible to enter the competition?

You can find the eligibility criteria under 'Rules'.


Am I eligible to enter the competition if I am a Colombian student studying outside of Colombia?

Yes. The competition is open for participation to anyone who lives/studies in Colombia or is a Colombian citizen living/studying abroad. Read more about eligibility under 'Rules'.


Am I eligible to enter the competition if I am studying
in Colombia but not a Colombian citizen?

Yes. See above.


Once I’ve started the competition, can I log out and log in again?

Yes. Once you have entered the challenge, you are able to log out and log back in after you have completed each step. Your information will be saved. You have until the competition deadline on November 2, 2014 to finish the whole challenge.


I am having trouble loading the page. Why is that happening?

We recommend using the latest versions of Chrome, Safari and Firefox, or Internet Explorer 10.


How can I prepare for the quiz questions?

The quiz questions are related to Swedish innovation, environmental sustainability and urban development. There is no certain way to prepare, apart from reading up on these subjects beforehand. During the test you will have access to the Internet, which you are free to use to help you in the quizzes.



How can I prepare for the essay question?

There is no specific material to study. However, there is no time restriction for the essay question, which means you can prepare as much as you want, or need. You have until the final competition deadline on November 2nd to finish your essay. Your essay and personal statement will be used as a tie-breaker, so you should spend time preparing your answer before submitting.


What is the competition and screening process?

Who will judge the competition?

Student Competitions is involved in the first selection process where the finalists are chosen. However, Student Competitions does not have any involvement in the final selection of winners. The participating universities are fully accountable for the selection of winners.


What happens if the first prize winner does not claim the first prize?

If the first prize winner does not claim the first prize, the second runner up will be the winner of the travel grant to Sweden.


If I win, when will I use the travel grant?

The travel grant will be offered to the first prize winner for spring 2015.


Can I enter the competition as part of a team?

No. We only accept entries from individuals, as the travel grant is awarded on an individual basis.


How do I apply for a master’s programme in Sweden?

You apply online at www.universityadmissions.se. Submit your application and documents, as required by your desired master’s program.
